Bristol Bear Bar

I have been trying to leave comments on their Instagram page, but they have obviously deleted them without addressing any of my concerns. So, I have decided to share my experience with everyone. I live just down the street, and the noise has become unbearable. I can hear the loud music clearly until 2am, or until they close (even though I love Madonna, I surely don’t enjoy her Vogue at 01:30). I am simply asking for some peace and quiet late at night. What I find particularly frustrating is that, despite this clearly being an ongoing issue, they seemingly have not taken any meaningful steps to improve the situation. I can already see a comment from a year ago raising exactly the same complaint. Deleting complaints does not make the problem disappear.

A fun, cute, small but interesting LGBTQ venue in the diverse, popular and edgy Old Market Bristol. The staff are brilliant, friendly, give everyone the time of day and brighten the place up. Fun music on Saturdays and amazing entertainment on Sundays. One of the last standing gay bars in Bristol along with the also fabulous queen shilling. I highly recommend if you want a friendly fun night out where everyone is accepted.

Great little spot in Old Market. The staff are very welcoming. I have been a few times, the locals are very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. If you want to visit a bar and be yourself then this is the place to go

Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Entertainment on a weekend is top class!

Expect a hostile vibe. Some bald guy who seemed to work there (but wasn’t actually behind the bar) unexpectedly marched over to us, rudely interrupted our conversation and demanded to speak to one of my friends “IN PRIVATE”. An interrogation then followed as to who we were, what we were doing etc. A group of gay guys in our 30s/40s who’d all bought drinks and just come over from Old Castle Green. Customers shouldn’t have to deal with this.
