I have regularly attended events at CCs for years, and if asked a few years ago, I would've said it was one of my favorite spots in Seattle. Nowadays I cannot say that. CC's usually has a $5 cover, which is normally not a problem, but they also will not give you water unless you purchase a bottle (at $5 a pop). This combines with the fact that the bar is very warm when there's a lot of people in it, and there's not much ventilation. you will get hot, and fast. No other bar on the hill will put something as simple as water behind a paywall. Thankfully, the owner has confirmed you can go to the restrooms and drink out of the tap at the sink if you want free water. Kudos, I guess. The lines at the bar take ages to get through on busy event nights, and you can expect to wait around 15+ minutes to get a drink. over the course of the night, if you go through the line multiple times, expect to spend at least 30-45 minutes of your night at CC's in the drink line. This makes the water problem even worse, a problem which would be solved with the simplest addition of a cooler anywhere on their generously sized bar. More recently, many of my friends have had terrible experiences with the security and staff, culminating at being yelled at and sprayed with water bottles like a housecat for engaging in lewd behavior, at a queer bar on a kink night of all places (which is ironic, because people get their backs blown out in public at CC's events constantly, it's what they're known for), or generally being seen as "in the way". security and staff will get visibly upset and angry with you if you aren't constantly buying drinks at all times, and you're seen as taking up space. It is minorly humorous that they have water for spraying paying customers who annoy them, but no water to give to those patrons when they're thirsty, in a "so unbelievable it's laughable" sort of way. years ago, I would've said that CC's was a very welcoming environment full of great people, a great place to blow off steam. Now, all I can say is it's very obvious that the pursuit of profit is put head and shoulders above ensuring safety and fun. I for one will never be back, and many of my regular friends are on the same page. You should go spend your money at any of the other great gay bars on the hill, like Cuff, Diesel, Pony, really anywhere but here.

I’ve been a regular here for about 7 years, from the “we’ll never charge a cover” era to the current cover charge with DJ nights and touring Flex events. Through all the changes, it’s still one of the most affordable and consistent neighborhood bars on the hill. The pours are strong, bartenders are solid, and you can still get an $8 double well or a $10 mid-shelf double pour, which is rare these days. There are also good options if you want low or no ABV drinks. Bartenders can feel a bit stiff on very busy nights, which makes sense to get through lines, but overall service is dependable. I haven’t agreed with every change over time—especially the decision to remove water stations and limit free access during events—but I really appreciated seeing they’ve now installed a bottle/glass filler, which they’re still connecting. That feels like a meaningful step toward accessibility. Still one of my go-to spots on the hill. Always a good vibe. Side note- only food option is mini Pringle cans, bring your own takeout order.

Very busy bar on event nights with very strong drinks. No water cooler provided. Their policy is to only give out a cup of water at time of other drink purchase. Otherwise you need to wait in line to purchase a bottle. Very uncaring for their clientele's health, safety, and comfort.

CW: SA, PTSD discussion I think it’s time I give more specifics on why I stopped patronizing this particular bar. Enough time has passed. From March 2023 to August 2024, I was a regular patron at CC’s. It’s the closest bar to my apartment. I came regularly to their Gaymer Nights. I never raised an issue or did anything to get kicked out of the bar. But I choose not to go back. On August 17, 2024, I was SA’d at one of their Funderwear Nights by a person I met through SEA-PAH. At the time, I was so shocked and embarrassed that I kept quiet about it for months. After speaking about it afterward with that person, and with others in SEA-PAH, two things were clear to me: one, that he would not take accountability for what he did, and two, that if given an opportunity, he would absolutely do it again. Considering CC’s is a bar this person visits regularly, I raised a serious safety concern with the venue’s security. My understanding from that conversation was that the bar would not issue a BOLO for this person because the assault happened on the sidewalk rather than literally inside the bar. Which makes zero sense. We were only outside because this person got me high and isolated me from the venue. CC’s regularly hosts and profits from events that are cruisey and high-octane, in a dark venue with stiff drinks. I had two before going outside. What I’m trying to say here is that the venue created an environment where I was assaulted, then hid behind a legal technicality in a way that felt like avoiding action or liability. Venues that profit off sex and substance use should not just believe survivors of assault; they should take steps to prevent assault from occurring. Assault is always the fault of the perpetrator, but venues also have a hand in creating a safe environment. I’ve seen them kick people out before for this, so what was different about this scenario? Especially since a separate venue that used to host my abuser caught wind of what occurred and cancelled his events. Since the event, I’ve had to rebuild my relationship to kink, find better friends, and take a major step back from nightlife. Ultimately this was for the best, but it wasn’t originally my choice when it should have always been my choice. I could not go to CC’s afterward without feeling on edge. Especially since the bar, as I noted in my previous review, is infamous for having guys grope and touch you. And it seems that recently they stopped issuing out free water. With stiff drinks, in a dark room, during events where people are taking off their clothes…make it make sense. CC’s now hosts SEA-PAH socials, and the person who SA’d me claims in a public review that he prefers to go there. Me, on the other hand? I lost trust in a major Seattle institution. I couldn’t trust them to handle my sexual safety concerns in a way that made me feel protected as a patron. I cannot recommend this bar to anyone who needs venues to have clear accountability around sexual misconduct.

This is not a safe space. Bartender was extremely rude from the moment I entered the bar. I was also shamed for asking for water toward the end of the night. I was assaulted in the middle of the bar by another patron who came up and randomly grabbed my neck trying to force me into contact with him. It was not busy and the staff did nothing. It’s a shame the ASL class meets here. That class and the people that attended were absolutely wonderful.
