had a very disappointing experience at NYX Amsterdam. I purchased a valid ticket and was denied entry at the door on the basis that it was allegedly a student night. This restriction was not clearly communicated when I purchased my ticket, and I would not have bought a ticket had I known. What frustrated me most was the attitude I encountered when I tried to discuss the situation. I felt that my concerns were dismissed immediately and that there was no genuine effort to listen to me or explain the decision fairly. Rather than receiving assistance, I was simply directed elsewhere regarding a refund. While waiting outside, I observed what appeared to be inconsistent admission decisions, which raised concerns for me about whether the door policy was being applied fairly and transparently to everyone. NYX promotes itself as an inclusive venue, but my personal experience left me feeling unwelcome and treated unfairly. Whether or not others have had similar experiences, this was how the situation came across to me as a paying customer. Amsterdam has otherwise been a welcoming city, which made this experience particularly disappointing. I encourage anyone considering purchasing tickets to carefully review the venue's policies beforehand and to read recent reviews before making a decision. I hope NYX improves the transparency of its admission policies and handles customer concerns in a more respectful and professional manner.
