About Club Unity

Club Unity is a large LGBTQ dance club in Montreal’s Gay Village on Sainte-Catherine Street East. Established in the early 2000s, it has become one of the most prominent nightclubs in the neighbourhood and attracts a diverse crowd of locals and visitors. The venue spans multiple levels, with several dance floors, bar areas and a VIP section. DJs play a mix of house, pop and electronic music, and themed party nights run regularly throughout the week. In warmer months, the rooftop terrace opens as an additional space with views over the Village. Located in the centre of Montreal’s main LGBTQ nightlife district, Club Unity is known for its late-night energy and remains one of the city’s busiest destinations for dancing and nightlife.

c’est un club treeeees discriminant envers les personnes de couleur, y avait une personne qui a fait gaspiller son drink il se peut que j’etais la cause, mais meme si je ne vais pas payer ppour une personne qui n’a pas fait attention a son drink, sachant que la personne est une white، the securiy agents treated me like shit while dragging me all over the stairs like im a criminal, and i did nothing wrong even if i did i was ready to apologize and be accountable for not paying attention... im so sure the way they dragged me down it was so discriminative just because im a person of colour they treated me as a criminal, all of people thought this is a safe place for non white people but its clearly not the case; they dont give you even the opportunity to explain your self just by looking at your skin they decide whats convenient for them , please for your own safety dont go there its a veery bad experience and Unity should definitely be boycotted by people like me please be careful for your own mental and physical health its really not worth it.m, my heart is broken cause many of my friends were like lets just goo its reallyyy so so safe but its so not the case once it concerns a person with a diiffrent colour than white please protect your self if youre queer and a person of coulour this is not your place its separating people instead of uniting them c’est diviser pour regner mais non pas pour unifier

Second time at club unity last night. Being from Toronto. It’s fair to say the Toronto club scene completely sucks, when compared to what Montreal has to offer. Unity did not disappoint the first or the second time, great Dj’s, security could’ve been a little less pushy but overall a great experience.

As a visitor I was told this was one of the top 3 gay dance clubs. Turned out wrong. Came on Saturday night and despite the higher than normal cover charge was still excited. Unfortunately it felt more of a straight bar with girls and their boyfriends. Good music. Good venue. We all like good music but this location needs to be classified as a mixed or predominantly straight bar. We love our straight allies in our community but I’m looking to meet a young man or dance with other fashionable gay men and Not watch women all hugging and kissing their boyfriends all over on every floor. Good club but search engines and google need to stop advertising this as a lgbtq dance club. Walking in at 1 am on a Saturday and it was nearly empty when it closes at 3 am. For an empty Saturday crowd should be less than half the cover charge paid. I hope locals don’t think this is normal lgbtq dance venue club because they would be completely in shock of what other predominately gay and trans are like in other major cities. Miami, Los Angeles , Chicago , Toronto , and even Columbus Ohio or Orlando or Dallas Texas. If your a single gay dude , think twice before coming because your chances of dancing with or kissing a gay or bi dude are basically non existent. Perhaps if they eliminated half of their crazy amount of paramilitary security overkill of them they could reduce the cover chaege. This isn’t Las Vegas to charge prices especially after "mandatory" coat check (which is so odd because every cold and wintery city other than Toronto and Montreal, never forces on their customers, even for a simple jean jacket part of my outfit, underneath my bulky winter coat...) and a $10 Red Bull . One drink and cover and coat check $50 and over. It’s fine if you are a dude looking for a cute chick. But other than that…… look elsewhere....

The energy here is unmatched from the music to the lights to the crowd, everything comes together for an unforgettable night out. The staff were friendly and fast, even on a busy night, and the overall atmosphere felt welcoming and inclusive. It’s one of those places where you can actually relax, be yourself, and just have a great time. I recommend!

I usually enjoy a good night out, but this time the experience was disappointing because of one bouncer. When we were leaving, we noticed he kept pushing people around to get by, even though there was plenty of space. He kept pushing me forward just to pass behind me, which was completely unnecessary. He even grabbed my friend in the back so hard that my friend thought someone was trying to hurt him. To make it worse, he laughed at us as we were leaving. It really killed the vibe right at the end of the night. If you’re going to hire bouncers, at least make sure they’re not there just pushing people around because they work there. Having a security job doesn’t make anyone more special—it just means they should help keep things safe and respectful. On top of that, $8 for half an ounce of alcohol in a shooter is a huge rip-off. I’d love to say I was too drunk to notice, but I was just starting my night. The prices are already high, but we still try to have a good time. Unfortunately, this bouncer’s behavior and the overpriced drinks made the end of the night really disappointing.
