About Coven: Headquarters

Coven: Headquarters is a five-storey LGBTQ+ nightlife and cultural venue on Old Compton Street in Soho. It opened in June 2026 in the former G-A-Y Bar building, returning a permanent queer venue to one of London’s most recognisable LGBTQ+ addresses. By day, Coven operates as a café, artist salon and community space. Its programme includes workshops, screenings, sober events, creative development activities and community gatherings. By night, the building becomes a nightclub and performance venue hosting queer club nights, cabaret, live music, experimental performance and special events. Coven describes itself as a home for every part of the LGBTQIA+ community, with different generations and identities encouraged to share the space.

Feels very fresh and clean, bar staff were friendly and quick to serve. The bar was extremely quiet considering how busy everywhere else was. Two men smoking a joint on the confined roof terrace was a good reason to leave when we did

No hyperbole: the first ray of hope I've had since sept 11. I believe this could be the kiln in which a lump of despairing cultural clay assumes multiple new beautiful and hardened forms. Excuse my pretentious words. I'm really really really blown away by this place and vision. L ❤️ V E 🦊

I’ve been just once for a Strut queer line dancing lesson and it was such a lovely vibe. The owner/founder is so kind and introduced themselves and made us feel right at home! What an absolute gem of a place xx

Such an incredible space! The staff are all so friendly and the nights have been so refreshing for queer nightlife in London! I would definitely recommend a visit to anyone that asks. An incredibly safe space for my dolls and BIPOC siblings.
