The Golden Cross Cardiff

Ok so under new management and the team seem competent. Bad news No longer takes Amex and they did before Coors Light gone and replaced with Brixton lager that tastes like a damp rag. Seriously bad. The lighting is dazzling...needs toning down Bad Easter Berlin leather tribute act on Good news Service good Stage moved Will probably improve.once they sort lighting Door staff polite and they actually let you in! Don't drink Brixton !

Historic pub with fantastic tiles, made by Jackfield in Ironbridge. I only had the one beer, Stonewall IPA.

A classic pub with cool interiors - a proper Victorian feel. Friendly atmosphere and a decent pint.

Bad atmosphere from the second we entered, bar staff barely acknowledged us, we asked to use the toilets first. While in the toilets we decided not to stay or use the toilets as they were rather unpleasant so walked out. Snarky comments from gentleman behind bar as we left about “toilets being for customers only”. Had you have shown us any custom or hospitality we would’ve stayed. Never felt so unwanted as a queer person in an ‘LGBT space’. Wouldn’t go back and avoid at all costs. Bare in mind the place was DEAD.

I would like to counter act the review by Christopher Court Wallace - I was in the night that he was in the Golden and he was exceptionally rude - he came in looking for an argument and involved himself into a conversation I was having. I left shortly afterwards because I felt uncomfortable. The Golden Cross is a fantastic pub with great bar staff.
