About La Camionera

La Camionera is a lesbian and LGBTQ+ bar on Well Street in Hackney, created as a welcoming, trans-inclusive space for the local queer community. The venue combines the feel of a neighbourhood bar with a daytime café and community space. Its drinks list includes cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic options, while food and coffee make it equally suitable for an earlier visit. La Camionera is deliberately smaller and more intimate than many London queer nightlife venues. It has developed a strong following among lesbian, sapphic and wider LGBTQ+ communities, with the atmosphere typically becoming busier later in the evening. The venue also hosts events and community gatherings, while its rear garden provides additional seating when available.

What to expect

A relaxed East London lesbian bar rather than a nightclub. Earlier in the day it can feel like a neighbourhood café and social space, becoming livelier and busier as the evening progresses.

Amazing atmosphere, great music and lovely welcoming staff. This place felt like a comfortable community space and i love that they support artists.

It's nice to have a queer bar in central London, and the staff are definitely friendly. However, the venue was quite small and cramped, and there aren't great transport links. It's also overpriced for what it is (£15 on the door). If you're a POC, I wouldn't suggest it, as the venue doesn't feel inclusive. I even noticed people buying drinks in a nearby shop instead of at the bar. I'm glad I went, but I thought it was overhyped and won't be going back.

Love the concept and the energy behind the idea for this bar but it’s a poorly organised setup, edgy staff who can’t deliver basic service, drinks were below average, influencer-central. Feels like it’s running on vibes which never lasts long - a shame because a more lesbian bars are needed. Maybe try hiring an experienced manager or simply training your staff to create a better experience for people Waited to be served at the table but no one came. Went to the bar to order, but she walked me back to the table, only to hear me repeat what I already said at the bar. The drinks then took 20 min to arrive. Perhaps you could issue table numbers to allow people to order at the bar. Similar to others, I went somewhere else after the first drink cos it was exhausting here lol Only giving 3 stars because London needs more lesbian bars. Tried to leave suggestions in my review. Hopefully it gets better but nothing is compelling me to come back. Have heard similar opinions from other queer people too

the whole place was so cute! I loved the vibe and the outdoor space was so big! my girlfriend and I arrived around 1pm and we started off with a latter and matcha and shared a buttery banana bread! they were all so yummy, the staff is super attentive and kind. The bathroom is huge and clean! I especially loved when the place started getting a bit busier and you could feel the community that has been built up around the location!

It gives me hope to see that places like this one exist🩷 lovely staff, very well prepared cocktails, the snacky bits are tasty
