Apollo Sauna in Zurich is a staple of the city’s LGBTQ+ scene, known as one of the oldest gay saunas in town. Conveniently located just a five-minute walk from Zurich’s main train station, Apollo is easy to get to and attracts a mix of local and international visitors. The sauna operates daily from 12 PM to 8 PM, making it a great spot to unwind in the heart of the city.
Spread across two levels, Apollo offers a variety of facilities to enjoy. On the lower floor, you’ll find a Finnish sauna, steam room, and a fully stocked bar to grab a drink between sessions. There’s also a cabin area for more private relaxation. The upper floor is quieter, designed for chilling out after the heat of the saunas. It's worth noting that the venue tends to attract an older crowd, so if you’re into a more mature vibe, you’ll fit right in.
The venue has undergone recent renovations, and while it isn’t the largest sauna in Zurich, it’s known for being clean and well-maintained. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a laid-back, traditional sauna experience with a friendly atmosphere. Apollo has been a long-standing favorite among Zurich’s gay and bisexual men.
Odd place , 2 apartments joined together to make a sauna. Clean. I went there on a Sunday afternoon, the average age was 65The front desk guy is nice. He also sells beers at the bar.
Disconcerting boss, insulting, threatening and violent. I was kicked out because I was using my phone in a place prohibited to customers but where the door was open and without any sign of prohibition. I still got reimbursed 20 chf out of the 28 chf paid. On the other hand, the humid sauna smells bad. Maintenance is not carried out. Only a clientele of horrible and unsympathetic old crooks like the boss! The worst sauna I have ever done in my life. A shame! The Zurich hygiene service will have to close this establishment.
