I Only spotted this bar the other day, I've walked past it several times in the last year, But didn't even realize what it was (it looks like a shop)the reindeer on the window got my attention so I decided to check the place out. It was very quiet, as it was lunch time and had just opened. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is the usual range of beers and larger, Obviously They don't do cask conditioned real ales it's not that kind of place. It is very large and spacious. They organise events and it's the kind of place that gets very busy and lively in the evenings. Would I call in again? Yes. I would like to go in at night to see what it is like then. Update I have been several times since as they take part in the trinity music festival putting on local musicians.

Don't do nights out often in Hull but when I do Monroe's is usually a pretty good place to hang out at. While its a bit on the snug side occasionally, the music and atmosphere is great and the staff are a hoot. Add in some fun entertainment put on through the week and its somewhere perfect to pop into, especially with Hull Pride round the corner.

How amazing to have a gay district in the heart of Hull, with such lovely bars. Monroes really is the heart of things, across two floors (although the top floor always seems vacant save for the loos) with a dance floor and screens. Always a laugh, friendly staff and fair prices on drinks.

Popped in for a drink while out and about. The place is very clean and well looked after, and the bar staff are lovely and polite. Very well priced drinks too. I will definately be back.
