Ricky's Cabaret Bar

We love it here! Every holiday to Maspalomas involves a visit to Ricky's and every night is different! We find the queens hilarious and it feels safe there. Our last visit was my favourite as we reserved a table at the front and that elevated the experience. I ended up drenched by a water pistol, "engaged" on stage by Hellon with my girlfriend and a souvenir keyring of Lavender Mills (might use it for the real deal) and my girlfriend/now "fiancé"? won an Irish dance competition - great fun. Thank you queens! Vanity, Hellon, Betty Blue and Lavender 🫶🫶

Daisy Diamond Rocks the Yumbo - Fantastic fun British bar with nightly drag shows. Daisy Diamond was out favourite lady of the night. Good quality drinks and an awesome atmosphere. Need to get there early if you want to get a seat.

What’s happened to Ricky’s? My favourite bar for years. Was there in November and it was fantastic. Just returned from a week at the end of jan. The “ show” is no where near what it used to be. I get there’s humour in having jibes at people but it seemed to be the only way the queens would try to get a laugh was by belittling people. There’s more to drag humour than slagging people. I went to sparkles and the energy from the queens, the content of the show and overall atmosphere were far superior. One thing I will give credit too is the bar staff. They were really friendly and welcoming.

Maybe I wasn’t lucky with my Sunday evening choice but the drag show was the most boring I have ever seen. Visibly the drag queens are tired of themselves and they just stand on the stage for 15 minutes by doing nothing. At least the elderly citizens were enjoying it or just didn’t want to give up their seats.
