I’ve visited Sircuit Bar a few times over the years as a local queer. My most recent visits were in October 2025, including one Friday night when the bar next door was hosting an event. It’s super easy to get to, with trams running right outside and plenty of options nearby to get into the city. Entry requires ID, and while security can be strict, they’ve always been polite and professional from what I’ve seen. There’s an outdoor smoking area that Sircuit shares with Yah Yah’s next door, which makes for an easy flow between the two venues if you’re bar hopping. Once inside, the main dance floor is to the left, where you’ll also find the large central bar, fully stocked and always well staffed. I caught a Halloween drag show there during my visit, and it was such a blast. Sircuit regularly hosts performances from local drag artists, and I really love their commitment to supporting up and coming queer talent. There are comfy booths and couches around the space, plus a few pool tables beside the dance floor where people can chill out between songs. Behind the DJ booth are the bathrooms, and upstairs you’ll find even more drag performances, another bar, and a big smokers’ area overlooking the street below. The upstairs section is heated on cooler nights, with cosy corners that make it perfect for hanging out and chatting between sets. I’ve always had great nights at Sircuit, though one slightly odd moment was when a staff member asked me to remove my “Birthday Girl” sash when I went for my birthday in September. Another staff member later said it was fine, so I’m not sure what that was about but it didn’t ruin my night. Overall, Sircuit has such a great vibe. It’s usually free entry unless there’s a special event on, and it always delivers a fun atmosphere. While it tends to attract more gay men, I’ve felt totally welcome there as a woman and had an amazing time dancing, chatting, and enjoying the shows. The drinks are solid, and being surrounded by great food spots makes it an easy choice for a full night out.
