About Splash Spa Leicester

Splash is Leicester’s dedicated gay sauna and a substantial two-floor venue rather than a token steam room. Downstairs facilities include the sauna, steam room, showers and an oversized hot tub, while upstairs adds private rooms, a cinema and further play and relaxation areas. A licensed, air-conditioned bar provides a more social place to reset between sessions. The venue runs themed events including bears’ days and no-towel sessions, as well as occasional on-site sexual-health testing.

What to expect

A spacious, laid-back gay sauna with extensive wet facilities, private areas, regular themed sessions and a sociable bar.

I went to their ‘naked Tuesday’ event. Prices reasonable. A really nice vibe and a good mix of guys of different ages and body types. Lots of fun had. If going on a Tuesday be sure to arrive around lunchtime as it’s at its busiest then. Kind of starts to empty by 5pm.

This is the largest sauna in Leicester, which can have its drawbacks, as if it is not busy then you can find it hard to make contact. The sauna has a nice bar/relaxation area on the ground floor with a pool table, bar serving food and drinks (free coffee & tea) and the wet-area which has the showers, sauna and steam room and a large heated pool – not exactly a Jacuzzi though. Upstairs is a large video room, various cabins, darkrooms, g.h’s. There is also and open-air terraced area for taking the sun and smoking. The clientele are a little younger than is usual in saunas these days – I would say that the average age was between 25 to 45 on my recent visit on a Sunday lunchtime/afternoon – although there were some older men also in attendance. There were also 50 -60 people visiting during the period I was there. There was also quite an ethnic mix during my visit. The sauna runs themed night including foam parties, under thirties nights with reduced prices for the younger crowd, over 60’s on alternate Wednesday when the youngsters pay the standard entrance fee. There are concessions for the under 25’s on most days too. There are also “gear”days and bears’ days as well – best to check the website. The steam room and upstairs see the most activity. A nice clean place with friendly staff – well worth a visit if you can be sure that it will be busy.

Over all I really like the place, I like the lay out, to my view very clean. the hot tub is nice and big. could be a bit hotter however, I like most of the staff especially the older gentleman he seems nice. however the clients are a bit forceful and back stabbers, they will do things with you and act as if they like you then make up lies behind your back. they make up lies to the staff who believe them when they should check the cameras to learn the truth. yes i have disability's and have been told things but I sorted that out and since then have been better, also i have learning difficulties and the other day one of their clients spoke down to me cos of this which I did not like.

We really enjoyed the Jacuzzi and sauna downstairs, and we also had a great time both upstairs and downstairs.

My friend took me for my first visit to this (gay sauna). I wasn't totally sure what to expect, but had a general idea. The facilities where spread out and all working. The hot tub was bigger than average (so I'm told). The staff are friendly and professional which helped me to relax. I feel I could go to them if I had an issue... It was busy but not wall to wall with a mix of age groups. Everyone from my experience respected each other and didn't encroach on others space so to speak. I would consider going again, maybe on my own in the future. My only criticism would be that some areas of the facilities could benefit with some small repairs maybe upgrades. However, everything was clean and safe. An i understand things are a work in progress. Towels provided are all the same style this can make it easy for you to mix your towel up with others. Maybe a tag or something would help to prevent this. Overall a relaxing experience with friendly staff. I would recommend this to others looking for a gay sauna.
