My first gay sauna experience in Australia was not something I had wished for, but when I brought up the matter to the management team, they swiftly responded to my concern and were willing to resolve the issue to my needs. They also promised me that they would be using the information I provided for future training to ensure all patrons, especially the first timers, would be treated with respect and without presumptions. Thank you Gary. I really hope to see the improvement as promised. The issue I had there was related to how the team treated guests. The building and furniture inside seemed clean enough considering the type of the place. I liked that part. (The original review: I didn't enjoy being accused of something I didn't do by one of the workers there. I have no intention to go there again. At least say "there has been a misunderstanding" if you don't want to apologise. I've learned it's a place where a first-timer gets falsely accused of breaking more rules if they failed to follow a simple drink bottle rule. If you're someone who can get everything right the first time, maybe it's a place for you. They don't seem to take customer service seriously. I didn't even get a word of apology from him. The worker assumed I was guilty and then I was.)

Wow. As a visitor to Mels, what a terrible, terrible experience. Things to know before you go: 1) Half the place is shut for renovations. Forget sauna, steam room, communal showers, dry sauna. Think cheap cruise club attached to a "shop" and you'll get the idea. Oh - there's a superb $5-7 discount (none on Tuesdays) to make up for losing access to half the place though 🤗. 2) Sunday afternoons / early evenings (traditionally very, very busy times at a sauna) are absolutely dead. Perhaps this review may give you an idea as to why that might be. 3) FULL ID check and your personal details recorded and kept on entry - sure, sounds reasonable. 3) Rude staff abound, especially on exit. Forget "please", "thank you", or any sort of basic pleasantries by front counter staff. Perhaps that requires an additional "tip"? 4) After 20 mins of dodgy cruise-clubbing, I was well and truly done. So then, Passouts? Get ready to hand over that ID again, with your FULL name recorded (again). 5 hours to return only. Oh, and remember that fiver you saved because the place is basically shut and empty? You'll be handing that bad boy straight back over the counter again if you dare to return - as if once wasn't absolutely well and truly enough. Been to some pretty ordinary saunas in my world travels, but Melbourne's Subway Sauna - you guys win. Hands-down. Well done! 1 star - I'd be deducting 5, if that was an option.

Good crowd this weekend. Shame about the wet area but staff informed landlord is extending the works to replace more of the roof and hopefully will be opened soon. Staff where super friendly not sure why the bad reviews must have not gotten any action or they are banned/kicked out people

We have very few sex on premises venues left in Melbourne and indeed Australia. The 3 saunas in Melbourne appear to be owned by the same interests. Subway is very tired in many respects and only survives by virtue of location. It smells strongly of mould from the moment you enter. The crowds are generally a lot smaller than Wet on Wellington. Some of the staff are lovely, like many many others have said some are rude or officious for no apparent reason. All in all as a business and a service this is pretty poor and the wider community deserves a lot better

Great space although wet areas are closed. Staff are the rudest customer service workers I have ever met. Almost like it’s an inconvenience for you to be there. Each time I have been I have had to pay entry twice. First time lost my passout and even though the person that gave me the passout served me upon re entry literally 30 minutes later made me pay again.
