About The Apple Tree
The Apple Tree was an independently run queer pub and community venue on Mount Pleasant in Clerkenwell. It mixed a colourful local bar with drag cabaret, open mics, workshops, clothes swaps and events for LGBTQ+ and alternative communities. The public bar closed during the pandemic and did not reopen. The business later entered administration and the property was sold, ending plans for a return at the original site. An old website may still describe event hire, but visitors should not treat it as an operating pub.
What to expect
The public bar is permanently closed; this page is retained as an archive of the former queer community venue.
