About The Mining Company

The Mining Company, known as TMC, is a long-standing fixture in Dallas's LGBTQ+ scene. Located on Cedar Springs Road in the heart of Oak Lawn, this bar is part of the city's vibrant ""gayborhood."" Originally opened in the late 1970s as the Throckmorton Mining Company, TMC has since evolved into a lively space that caters to a diverse crowd, including locals and visitors alike. The venue offers a mix of experiences, from a buzzing dance floor with DJs spinning pop, dance, and hip-hop to quieter spots on its two outdoor patios—ideal for relaxed conversations. TMC is especially known for themed events like Trashy Tuesday, which draws a fun-loving crowd looking for a night of energetic beats and strong drinks. Alongside the music and dancing, guests can enjoy pool tables and friendly bartenders who contribute to the bar’s welcoming vibe. The bartenders at TMC know their way around a cocktail, whether you're in the mood for something classic or a custom creation. The crowd here is diverse, creating a space where everyone feels like they can be themselves while enjoying a fun night out in Dallas.

I have visited this establishment a few times with my friends. I truly appreciate the ambiance and enjoy watching the dancers perform. There's the area outside with tables & seats to relax & talk.

The bouncer working weekends at TMC does not appear to be consistently checking IDs. A friend and I witnessed a group hand him $$$, and they were allowed in without any visible ID check. All three individuals looked underage. A short time later, those same individuals were escorted out after clearly having been served drinks. So is there some sort of scam going on at the door?

Upon my first visit Chris was my bartender and helped me get familiar with the place. I went on a Tuesday to avoid a crazy crowd upon my first impression. The dancers came out around 11:00. There was no cover, and per Chris there's never one. Decent prices for drinks. I would go back.

3 bartenders told us to go to the other bar because of a shift change. How are you closing a bar at 9 without your replacement 😭🤣 this bar is embarrassing, go anywhere else.
