Pekkers is absolute magic if you're looking for an easygoing, welcoming neighborhood spot to unwind. ​Tucked into a strip mall just off the main Oak Lawn strip, it’s a total gem of a neighborhood bar. Dropped in on a Sunday afternoon and had the absolute best time. The vibe is completely chill, effortless, and friendly from the moment you step inside. ​Spent hours sitting at the bar, striking up easy conversations with local regulars, and learning all about Dallas and the history of Oak Lawn. Beyond the great community feel, Abel the bartender was absolute tops. Attentive, warm, and keeping the good vibes going all afternoon. ​If you find yourself in Oak Lawn, do yourself a favor: stop in for a drink, soak up the authentic hospitality, and make sure to say hi to Abel! ​(P.S. We really had a great time here last Saturday night! The karaoke DJ was a lot of fun and the drinks were fantastic. I had my first pickle back shot which was surprisingly tasty. The bartenders were very friendly and fast.

Honestly great if you’re looking for a more laid-back, “people know each other” experience! Also make some of the best white tea shots I’ve had. I work at the Domino’s so I’ll DEFINITELY be coming back.
