Went with a friend on a weekend and while it wasn't for her and we left early all staff were super kind as it was our first time in a club and I will definitely be coming back with my other friends. Unlike others who seem to have issues with getting in, the staff at the door were really understanding and it felt like a safe place for any queer of all ages to enjoy a good night out without feeling like anybody is judging. I highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good night out lgbtq+ and super friendly :)

i'm super disappointed with polo. used to be a regular with my friend group, but anytime we try to go in without a man we are refused entry. the bouncer will only say "we don't need to give you an answer" or "it's a no from us tonight" when asked why we can't come in, even with us being a small group and completely sober. moments later we watched the bouncers let in a group of 6+, so the capacity line they keep giving is a lie! anytime we can get in, there are lots of straight men bothering the women, which feels unsafe and wrong for a supposably safe queer space. from other sapphics i talk to, I hear this is a common experience. polo is NOT an inclusive club at all, especially for lesbians. they prioritize men to the point of there being more straight men then queer women in the club, and do nothing to protect the women who are let in. lesbians have the same right to exist and be served in queer clubs, but polo has shown time and time again that they disagree. disgusting! i would say skip for pride month or any other fun night out.

I love polo and it will always have a special place in my heart but it’s seriously gone downhill. Unfortunately 75% of the staff are unnecessarily rude (being generous) and honestly I think they know it, majority of them don’t seem to care. I just feel a little upset that polo isn’t how it used to be. I miss how the atmosphere was, non judgmental and positive and free and energetic. As a queer person I want to go into queer designed places feeling comfortable and confident, that’s not how I feel in polo anymore which is really sad. Queer spaces in Glasgow are only growing which is amazing and so exciting. If you’re looking for queer/creative/non judgmental places in Glasgow I’d recommend stereo, exit, berkeley suite, and pop up events (the best) like ponyboy, scandal, and drip.

The bouncers are being straight up rude, me and my friends went to the bar to celebrate my friends bday but we were denied entry for no reason like seriously who are your target customers just put a board if u only want certain people to enter your club why waste our time. I would leave no review but ya one start is more than what they deserve.

My friend goes to uni in Glasgow and said that this is a must go night out and I was looking forward to going with her. When we arrived with our 2 forms of ID ALREADY PREPARED, we were refused entry at the door without reason despite being sober. We were already aware that the bouncers can be difficult so we prepared for this and didn’t drink beforehand. Review replies from Polo claim that they refuse entry due to capacity and safety concerns, but if this was the case, why not just fill the venue first then refuse entry once full and do a one in one out procedure??!! One of us is half Asian and we have also heard of racism issues with the bouncers so we hope that this was not the case this time. However, because of this we ended up at Corset Club instead which was amazing- so I would recommend over Polo anytime!
