About Trumps

DANCE YOUR HEART OUT AT TRUMPS! Trumps is the best known LGBTI brand in Portugal and has been so for 39 years. More than a venue for a night of dancing to house and pop music, Trumps is tightly associated with high quality events that combine art, entertainment, stagecraft, music, production and raw nightlife energy. Trumps has been staging many locally and internacionally renowned artists, such as António Variações, Conchita Wurst, Miz Cracker, Fergie, Netta Barzilai and many others, being recognized as a central point not only in the development of queer culture and life in Lisbon, but also in the development and maintenance of Portugal's LGBTI market and corporate structure. Trumps has it's own productions, dancers, DJs, drag queens and events but has also co-hosted different events in Brazil, Spain, Ireland and Italy with local and international brands, such as WE Party, Matinée, World Pride and EuroPride. Located in the heart of Lisbon's LGBTI neighborhood - Príncipe Real - Trumps is one of the oldest and the biggest gay club in Portugal, recognized with several prizes such as Time Out's Best Gay Night, where one can get connected with both foreigner and portuguese LGBTIs in a two floors venue with state-of-the-art LED wall and an amazing animation crew while enjoying 2 different dance floors and 1 lounge area.

bar tenders, bodyguards, performers were all so nice to me and me friend even though we are tourists that don’t speak a word of portuguese. I’ve never felt safer in a club before. Great energy, great performers, great music. Drinks were a little bit expensive but not extreme (eg, beer -> 5€). i’ve had bad experiences in gay clubs before where the people are old creepy drunk sexually frustrated men that flirt with young boys, Trumps was nothing like that at all. Safe place.

I visited Trumps recently with a group of friends and we had an excellent experience. The atmosphere was incredible throughout the night and the music was phenomenal. The security staff did an impeccable job, ensuring a safe environment for the entire group. Highly recommended.

I signed up for their free cover, which says "must arrive before 1am" I get there a few minutes before such and the line is long. They purposely are going slow. A few minutes before they completely stop the line and aren't doing anything (their excuse was we are letting the traffic out of the club). At 01:03 they resume the line and claim they aren't taking any more of the signups and are charging everyone cover. Just poor customer service and communication to get their cover fee. I refused to pay for something they promised for free and left.

The party wasn't so bad, although the music mixes weren't great, the rhythm changes were abrupt, and it didn't feel fluid. But what really bothered me was the rudeness and rudeness. The way guards treat people. It's true that a firm attitude is needed to avoid potential problems. But a firm attitude isn't arrogance or rudeness. The security guards are the first point of contact with the club and should therefore feel welcomed, not intimidated. Not to mention that one of the guards, the day I went with my friends, let a girl put his hand on her chest, in an environment like this place that is pro LGBTQI+ The guards' sexist attitude perpetuates the still-present prejudices within the community. Given that the primary audience belongs to this community, they cannot forget that the customers...It depends on your salary, and not the other way around.
