About ZischBar

ZischBar is Basel’s long-running weekly LGBTQIA+ bar night, hosted at KaBar beside Kaserne Basel. Every Tuesday, community volunteers create an easygoing place to meet over drinks, with a broad mix of queer locals, friends and visitors. A portion of proceeds supports the regional LGBTQ+ organisation habs. Because ZischBar is a recurring residency rather than a seven-night venue, timing matters: visit on Tuesday and check the official page for holiday cancellations or one-off programme changes.

Practical tips before you visit

The queer ZischBar session takes place on Tuesdays, 18:00–01:00, inside KaBAR.

Use the KaBAR entrance at Klybeckstrasse 1b; the host’s other opening days are not ZischBar sessions.

The place was really chill. So, we went here for one drink. The bartenders seemed cool and everything was fine. However, when I got home I got a surprise extra $18 charge on my CC. So, the moral of this story is to always check your CC charge regardless. The good thing is I took a photo of the mobile POS.

Nice option for lunch with a seasonal weekly menu. Staff is friendly& fast serving the tables. The atmosphere is relaxed & pleasant, specially when the weather allows to sit outside

Good bar, great music, nice selection of beers and liquors, tasty appetizers and cool environment. It is great for group meetings and casual drinks. Not so big inside, which could be a deal breaker for some people especially during winter but overall it's a nice place to start drinking. Most of the time is full with young people. A must during summer.
