such a charming and welcoming diner with feel-good food! i really love that they offer healthier options without sacrificing flavor, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. the omelette with salsa was so silky and fluffy. the grilled chicken sandwich was MASSIVE, with juicy, well-seasoned chicken, and the house-made honey mustard was sooo addicting. the waffle was also a standout, so soft and cloud-like, which went really well with the crispy and tender fried chicken. the service was also amazing and super attentive. def a new comforting go-to!

Always a local favorite. Their salads, burgers and carrot cake are our go to’s. And the staff are truly gems that have the best personality and recommendations. Been going here for over 20 years and have never had a bad experience. Kudos team Barnaby!

This place is one of my favourite breakfast spots. The food is amazing. I their home fried potatoes are 🔥. Everything on the menu HITS. But the service is my favourite thing about this place. 10/10 recommend this place.

I’ll be honest the food was good but the to go order was a mess. My cousin got a sandwich similar to the BLT with potatoes and the entire order was disassembled in a container? If we had known we’d have to build our own meal we wouldn’t have gotten it. Service upon arrival is the reason we got a to go order to begin with as it was the host was rude and genuinely not welcoming. If you want bare minimum service but 7/10 food I guess you can go here. Wouldn’t go back to this location.

After a disappointing experience earlier the same day at the Barnaby’s location on Binz St, where we were told no pets were allowed inside at all, I decided to call the Barnaby’s Café in the Montrose area to confirm their pet policy before going. They were very welcoming and confirmed that as long as the pet is safely contained, it would not be an issue. We visited with our 6-week-old kitten inside a clear backpack carrier on a rainy day, and from the moment we arrived, the experience was excellent. The entire staff was attentive, kind, and accommodating. They made sure we were comfortable even with our kitten with us, and treated us with genuine respect. Many of the team members and guests were friendly and even interacted warmly with our little kitten in the carrier. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Everything came out fresh and well-prepared, and the overall service was outstanding. What stood out the most was how respectful everyone was toward our pet. Even when we left, the staff kindly acknowledged and said goodbye to our kitten as well, which was a very nice touch. Because of the excellent service, food quality, and genuinely pet-friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend this location. I would definitely come back again.
