Boombox Belfast

Turned away at the door for being a heterosexual couple... absolutely disgusting and unprofessional behaviour from the door staff... spent nearly 2 hours at the maverick bar which was amazing... then got stamped and told to go to the boombox to continue r night out... when me and my partner got to the door the door staff were extremely rude, unprofessional and discriminated against my partner and myself straight away for being a straight couple... even the people in the queue we stating it was disgusting as we had been with them in the mavrick bar. we did no harm at all but want to go and have a dance... talk about equal rights... well none we're given here... the maverick bar staff and entertainment were amazing. They talked us into going to the boombox as we were not drunk and were just enjoying ourselves. We asked a few times if we would be permitted into the boombox to be told absolutely as we were doing no harm to anyone then proceeded to give us a stamp and told to go and have a good night. with previous experience working in a nightclub that held a night for gays I can tell you now that door man would have been sacked in an instance. Never again will I be near the place with door men like that on the door.... shocking behaviour from men that are meant to be in a professional job and told not to discriminate. Left in the street as we had our lift home ordered for 3am... professional is not in there vocabulary... what door men you ask it was the 2 that were on the door on Friday 29th May 2026!!!!!!!! Horrible horrible experience and people. Pity the couldn't be like the staff in the maverick bar. Does this mean gay members of the community are not allowed into straight bars or is it double standards in there eyes....

Just wanted to leave a review to say how great one of the female bouncers at Boombox was last night. I had a bad experience with two men in the bathrooms which left me upset and a bit intimidated. The bouncer came in while I was upset and was just so kind and lovely. after i told her what happened she offered to kick the men out but since it was basically closing time anyway I told her not to worry. She was brilliant and I just wanted to leave a review because she really made a difference to my night :)

Suprised by the other reviews, the bouncers were sound as, it sufficies to be decent and dead on and you'll have no bother. It's a safe space for people, so be respectful to keep it that way if you're going. Put myself and friends on the list beforehand also and was welcomed, assured and everyone got in and had an excellent night - heard music can be a bit hit and miss but the saturday night we went the Dj was brilliant. Will definitely go again.

First time I ever went and it was a blast. Admittedly had a bit too much to drink and it was great to see one of the barstaff Emi who's my friend McDonald's breakfast the next day is coming in clutch. Heads up for anyone planning to go, it is a £6 entry fee

Went here last night with friends but refused entry for “not being a regular” but yet I’ve been here many times before. I honestly believe that yer man at the door profiled me and my friends because we are from the south and he had a problem with us. When questioned he brought his colleague who accused me of having a “bad attitude” when I challenged him on the stance of it being “regulars only”. If we were hammered, I’d say fair enough and walk away but we weren’t. This attitude is not right in this day and age. Take your little late bar and stick it up your hoop! We took our business elsewhere and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Avoid this place at all costs.
