The Reporter Belfast

Wandered into here during a heatwave in Belfast and so glad I did! Corey served me a lovely pint of Blue Moon after offering everyone (including myself) some factor 50 for that mental weather. To top it off, he even gave me some complimentary cheese (shout out Mike’s Fancy Cheese). This is my first time visiting but it won’t be my last. Great bar, lovely staff. 10/10

Had a very disappointing experience in this bar. Having been in previously with my husband and really enjoying it, we brought my dad here on another visit to Belfast. When we went in, we had just had a big meal. We had two rounds of drinks, no spirits, just pints. My dad went to have a cigarette and then buy another round when he was told he was not permitted to re-enter. The manager and the bouncer came and found me and my husband and described my dad as “rubbered”. When we went outside, my dad was perfectly fine, standing and speaking clearly with no issues. The manager would not budge on his decision, saying he was “unsteady on his feet” but seemed a little sheepish when questioned. Unfortunately we suspect that the manager had taken a disliking to my dad, potentially due to my dad being straight. I emailed the bar and over a week later, have yet to hear back. Very disappointing experience and we won’t be returning again.

This is exactly my kind of bar. Bric-a-brac decor, great music, good folks. Nice for a quiet pint or to chat with locals.

Truly my favourite place to come! Nothing as nice as an afternoon here and then the live entertainment they provide in the evening is perfect. Staff couldn’t do more for you - especially Cory! Staff are faultless. Ta for being my favourite local 😀 not to be missed!
