About Katie's Bar

Katie’s Bar is a spacious vaulted basement venue on John Street, a few minutes from Glasgow Queen Street station. Since opening in 2013 it has become a dependable part of the Merchant City LGBTQ+ circuit. Entertainment is the point: the weekly line-up commonly includes drag, karaoke, quizzes, bingo, tribute acts and DJs. There are plenty of tables for earlier drinks, but event nights can turn the room into a much bigger shared party. Bookings are available for groups of up to 20 and may require a redeemable deposit. Check the current schedule before visiting if you want a particular performer or event.

We (5 of us ) called in for the Dolly Parton tribute and she was great. Staff were nice. There were about another 10 people in opposite us dressed up in country and western outfits and another 2 round at the bar. Pity it was so quiet.

Was here with a former class mate who is also my best friend lol. The night was great and we met so many wonderful and often also quite gorgeous people there. Perfect for long evenings/nights.

For years I had always been a fan of Katie's bar, we had a meal next-door then went into Katie's only to find I'm no longer a fan of this little bar....couldn't wait to get out of it!!! Maybe I've grown up & moved on. The staff are still amazing can't fault them.

Staff are super friendly and the performers and acts ate always great. Feels like a proper authentic vibe and the drinks are very good and quite reasonably priced, especially with the katies klub earning points too.

If you are looking for something a bit different, Katie's Bar in John Street maybe the place for you. Going down from street level into a surprisingly large vaulted area. There are pool tables on the right hand side as you go in. There is a good variety of beers and at reasonable prices. It was quite empty when I visited but began filling up when the karaoke started.
