What a great find in the middle of Newtown a place for lunch for only $16 Daily specials!! No extra for snitty sauce!!! Friendly staff Drink prices reasonable Kitchen staff so lovely , gave me a take home box for free and an extra container of sauce. This little things really make a difference We will book for a birthday lunch for 10 next month. So the staff going above and beyond today has scored them a big booking. Pet friendly as well

Had lunch at The Newtown Hotel on ANZAC Day and there was such a great vibe. The two-up games brought a lot of energy to the place, and it just kept getting busier as the day went on. The food was generous and really satisfying, and the staff were super friendly throughout. The drag queens running the two-up games were absolutely hilarious and added a unique, fun twist to the whole experience. All in all, a really fun and memorable afternoon, definitely a spot worth checking out, especially on a day like ANZAC Day!

We came for happy hour, the drinks were good! And SUCH a good price at happy hour, and even on a Saturday! Good amount of choice, $6.50 for a lager or a Prosecco is soooo reasonable! It was quite busy but vibes were good, seemed like they had some shows on, would maybe be back for those for something fun to do! We managed to get a seat on the balcony which I loved because I’d been inside at work all day so perfect spot to get some fresh air, enjoy a drink with my boyfriend. Staff were friendly at the bar. We will be back!

The effect of inflation is so evident not only in the pricing, but the quality of service. The servers seemed so friendly with the Aussie customers, but not with the people of colour like me. It’s like they’re so over it. And to think this is supposed to be an inclusive space. Also, additional gravy is $3. Wow, I must be asking too much *shrugs* This WAS one of my favourite pubs but I do NOT feel welcome anymore.
