I recently had the pleasure of visiting Planet Bar in Edinburgh, and it was an unforgettable experience. This vibrant establishment stands out as one of the best spots in the city for a night out. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a perfect place to enjoy drinks and meet new people. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone felt at home. Moreover, I stayed at the nearby apartments associated with Planet Bar, and they exceeded my expectations in every way. The apartments were exceptionally comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a fun night out. Each room was well-equipped with modern facilities, making my stay both convenient and enjoyable. From the cozy bed to the fully stocked kitchenette, every detail was thoughtfully designed to enhance comfort. Overall, my experience at Planet Bar and the nearby apartments was fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the best of Edinburgh's nightlife while staying in a comfortable and well-appointed accommodation.

I am on holiday with my friend and i was turned away at 10.30pm, sunday night) by the bar tender, as he said i walked like i was drunk. I had only just left my hotel sober and this incident happened last October as well where they said I was drunk, but I actually have a limp from an accident.... it is appalling behaviour of a venue that discriminate against a disabled person and will be putting this to all my followers in manchester, birmingham and londonas well as cardiff as .... this manager and venue should be ashamed !

Our experience at Plate Edinburgh was extremely disappointing, not because of the venue itself, but because of the completely unacceptable behavior of the doorman. We were refused entry in a rude, dismissive, and unnecessarily aggressive manner, supposedly because the shoes one of my friends was wearing were “not appropriate.” There was no visible dress code, no clear explanation, and no attempt at polite communication — just an arbitrary decision delivered with arrogance and zero respect. It is quite ironic that a place trying to present itself as stylish and high-end allows someone at the door to treat potential customers with such poor manners, lack of professionalism, and questionable judgment. The whole interaction felt humiliating and completely unjustified. Edinburgh is known for being a welcoming and inclusive city, and this experience does not reflect that spirit at all. There are plenty of other venues nearby where customers are treated with basic courtesy and respect. We will not be returning, and we certainly would not recommend this place based on how we were treated.
