About Prowler Soho

Prowler Soho, located in the heart of London's gay district, Soho, is much more than a typical gay sex shop. It's a cultural icon, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of the gay community in the UK. Open since the 1990s, Prowler Soho has established itself as one of the largest and most inclusive gay-retail stores in the world. One of the key aspects of Prowler Soho is its extensive product range, catering to a variety of tastes and preferences within the gay community. The store offers everything from an impressive collection of male sex toys and poppers to more highbrow items like comics, magazines, and indie-zines produced by local gay artists. This wide selection ensures that the store appeals to a broad spectrum of the community, not just those looking for traditional sex shop products. Apart from retail, Prowler Soho is actively involved in the LGBTQ community, hosting events such as meet-and-greets and book signings. These events often feature notable figures ranging from calendar stars to respected authors, adding a layer of cultural richness to the shopping experience. The store's location in Soho, a neighborhood known for its rich LGBTQ history, further adds to its significance. It's not just a place to shop but a destination where visitors can feel a sense of belonging and community. Prowler Soho's enduring presence in the area highlights its importance as a safe, inclusive space for the gay community.

I think they just hire people based on looks because it’s definitely not based on customer service.

Where I buy all my lube ;) Usually offers 3 for 2 etc. Lots of other novelty items and lots of underwear. Good also for picking up free copies of QX and Boyz magazine which are located near the door.

Ideal first stop for gay gifts. Plenty of cards, books, hot underwear and novelties ... and if you want something a little more naughty check out the Prowler backroom for a selection of x-rated videos and toys.

I went to the Prowler Soho and Prowler RED last night, February 3, 2026, and when I looked at my Prowler RED receipt, I noticed that I got charged for two of the Prowler Magazines at 20 quid each and was only given one, which I did not ask to purchase. The cashier scanned it (twice, apparently), put it with the other stuff I was purchasing, and said that "there's no charge" for it, so I was like "ok, whatever, stores sometimes throw in their magazines or catalogues when people buy stuff." The exact same thing happened to me at this location, Prowler Soho, so I'm assuming I also got charged 40 quid I didn't ask to spend. However, I can't confirm that I was double charged for the Prowler Magazine there because I was not given an itemized receipt. The real kicker? The Prowler Magazine was supposed to have a 20-quid-off voucher for the next purchase, but -- surprise, surprise -- both of the ones I got had already had the voucher removed. This makes me question if the employees are double-charging for the magazines to boost the company profit and keeping the vouchers for themselves. I understand that the voucher essentially makes the magazine free, but it's extremely uncalled for to force it on someone, double charge, and then not actually provide the voucher. If I had only been charged the 20 quid for one magazine at each place, whatever. But 40 quid when I'm only getting 20 quid worth of product (at least at Prowler RED, again, I was not able to confirm if this was the case at this location) is not okay, especially if the same thing happened at this location. If it happened at both locations, that's 80 quid I'm out. I more than likely will not be returning to either of the London Prowler locations, nor would I recommend anyone else visit if they ask for my recommendation. On the bright side, the staff was helpful and answered my questions.

Had the great misfortune of popping in here this evening to purchase some essentials, only to be greeted by a member of staff who served me like I was asking for a kidney. Miserable, devoid of a personality and gravely unaware of the protocol around basic customer service skills. I’ve had colds that were more appealing and welcoming. UPDATE (in response to the business reply and to correct factual inaccuracies): My original review did not mention waiting, delays, or service speed. I waited without complaint and there was no discussion about waiting at any point. The only interaction I had with staff was stating what I wished to purchase and paying for it. There was no confrontation, no complaint raised in store, and no hostility. A friend who was with me witnessed the exchange and made the same observation regarding the staff member’s blunt and unwelcoming manner. That, and only that, was the reason for the review. Also worthy of a note - there was another gentleman stood next to me, who was there first, and when the rude member of staff came through to the back - I asked the gentleman if he was waiting to be served and did he want to go first (he declined). Thus proving my point that waiting was not the issue. Reframing this as a patience issue or suggesting hostility on my part is inaccurate. The concern remains unchanged: the interaction was unwelcoming and rude, and the response here appears to defend that behaviour rather than reflect on it. If you're going to respond to reviews, at least have all the facts without making them up to justify the response.

Prowler Soho has been my go-to store in London for years, and it never disappoints. The shop offers an incredible range of products, from everyday essentials like lubrication to unique gifts and treats. Their selection of underwear is always stylish and sexy, and the variety of fantasy and role-play items means there’s always something new to discover. It’s a place where you can find both the practical and the playful, all under one roof. What I love most about Prowler is the atmosphere. The staff are relaxed and never intrusive, letting you browse at your own pace, which makes the whole experience comfortable and enjoyable. There’s never any sense of pressure, and instead, you feel welcomed the moment you step inside. After 15 years of shopping here, I can honestly say it has always been a safe, fun, and inviting space—a true Soho gem that continues to deliver.

Bought 5 items in the store one of it was a XL shorts and the day after (less than 24h) I went to the store to exchange it (was a SHORTS not underwear) and the manager said they don’t do any exchanges. I didn’t use it even try it (and to remind it was a SHORTS not underwear) if it was a underwear I could understand but shorts 😒. Spent more than £100 and by the way the quality is REALLY BAD for the high prices in the items. Really BAD QUALITY and -1 client from now.

This store is fantastic. They've got a great selection of products, and the customer service is top-notch. I had a question about one of the items, and the staff member I talked to was super helpful and knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.
