About R-Bar

R-Bar is a lively LGBTQ+ bar on Marine Parade, close to Brighton’s Kemptown queer district and the seafront. Operated by the team behind Club Revenge, it provides a more relaxed setting for afternoon drinks, pre-club gatherings and evening entertainment. The weekly programme regularly includes bingo on Wednesdays, karaoke on Thursdays and the Cabaret of Queeriosities drag show on Fridays. DJs, themed nights and community fundraisers are also held throughout the year. R-Bar serves cocktails, beers and other drinks, with a daily happy hour running until 8pm. Freshly cooked pizzas are available, while a pool table and collection of board games add to the informal neighbourhood-bar atmosphere. The venue includes a downstairs performance stage and an upstairs event space available for private parties, celebrations and community events. Earlier visits are generally relaxed and conversational, while entertainment nights and weekends can become much busier. Had a lovely calm birthday evening drink with a good friend. Was able to be totally myself and create some artwork while in there. 😊 Staff were great and met some lovely people. Looking forward to visit again soon and maybe do some more painting 🤘👍❤️

Sorry but they was absolutely not characteristic of the bar. Full of tv with pizza advertisements. Bar staffs were more drinking than serving. For a Friday night I would expect a bit more masculinity. The drag was shooting more than anything and really make the night difficult and not enjoyable. 50% off regular drinks before 8 is obviously amazing. The place wasn’t too packed mid-May on a nice day which was good. Upstairs has a nice view also :)

me and my partner always come here when we're down in Brighton and it's our favourite bar in the UK I can't lie. We're from Leeds but always make time to come here when we're down. The staff are always lovely and the atmosphere is really nice. I feel it's rare to feel safe as a lesbian couple even in queer spaces but we've never felt out of place. And most importantly the drinks are AMAZING 🙏🏻
