Römersauna

Easy to find, close to the metro; the place is very clean, spacious, and feels almost brand new. Convenient changing rooms, decoration OK and perfect showers. The bar area is well-designed. Plus, the staff are friendly and attentive—that matters. BUT, unfortunately, there were very few people around (despite visiting twice); the L-shaped, marble-style steam room isn't exactly conducive to hooking up (the main area is too brightly lit, while the dark section is *too* dark)... You just end up wandering around aimlessly. It's a shame; the place is missing something to "spice things up" (and attract more guys).

This place has no justification for existence. I’ve been to many saunas around the world, this is the first time I see a sauna with no jacoozy/hot tub/pool. It literally has 2 facilities: dry and wet sauna. Each one is a room so small, about 6-9 sqm. That’s it. No dark rooms, no maze, nothing special at all. It is very clean and actually smells good, but the whole place is so small. I went there Friday night - the maximum amount of people inside was maybe 20. Very old audience, men around 45-65 years old. And all this for an outrageous price of 19 euros. Do yourself a favor - SKIP!

One of the best saunas I have been to. The steam room and dry sauna are quite small, it can get very full very quickly. Some of the guests even had to sit on each other's laps :P. There was a good range of guests with roughly 40 men there on a Wednesday night in January. The facilities were clean and the staff were polite by Viennesse standards. Yes, get the bath shoes. Yes, this costs a little extra, this is normal. Same for fresh towels. At least in Europe. Protectionism free, lube is not. Czechoslovakia is the same. The downstairs area it large with plenty of clean and comfortable private cabins. The movies are recent releases. As a large bear I was pleased to find more than a few people interested in showing me some Viennesse hospitality.

I've visited many male-only saunas around the world, and Römersauna definitely ranks among the best. I loved the facilities, the cleanliness, and the staff. It earns a five-star rating from me on Google. Frustratingly, most of those giving Römersauna a poor rating are not criticising the sauna itself but the clientele. :( I don't know what those doing so hope to achieve? As a pensioner, I greatly value the opportunity to visit such friendly places. When I was younger, such places did not exist - in fact, 'affection' among men was illegal! Men in their twenties and thirties should praise these saunas if they want them to survive; after all, they will be old one day too. :) Carpe Diem.

Very clean and nice sauna. I was there after Kaiserbründl and when I showed a ticket from there - the entrance was only 10€. Very nice barmen and I had a lot of fun there.
