About The Birdcage

The Birdcage is an LGBTQ+ cabaret, cocktail and entertainment venue on Marine Parade in the heart of Brighton’s Kemptown district. Opened in 2026 in the former Centre Stage premises, it combines a seafront bar and terrace with a busy programme of queer performance. Drag is central to the venue’s identity, with performers appearing alongside live singers, comedians and DJs. Events range from traditional cabaret shows and comedy nights to afternoon DJ sessions, themed parties and special celebrations. The bar serves cocktails, wine, beer and food, making it suitable for afternoon drinks or a meal as well as an evening of entertainment. Its position opposite the seafront places it within easy walking distance of Brighton Palace Pier and many of the city’s other LGBTQ+ venues.

We have visited this venue many times over the years but this version of it with the new owners is the best ! Layout and decor is hugely improved , the guy behind the bar was extremely efficient and friendly and was always clearing away glasses and even wiping down tables when a guest left(rarely done in the uk!). Being able to order from the table via qr code is a massive bonus also ! Well done guys, we will be back !

Amazing staff! Went there at the big opening night and they were very attentive (the place was packed!) I didn’t wait at the bar for longer than 2 minutes! Nice cocktails to enjoy the summer time at their terrace The girls that were serving shots were very friendly too. This is a must go place in Brighton! 10/10
