Victoria Bar Edinburgh

Had a walk down leith walk with the Mrs and our four legged companion. Popped in for a refreshment ! 3 rounds later we decided to continue our walk. Should have stayed longer. Margaritas and cocktails were great. Bar snacked of olives but spicy and great service. We will be back. Great sound level to chat and read. Recommend this place.

Nice pub with a nice vibe. We stopped in during our travels and got a nice mix of beer, non alcoholic and cocktails. We were able to get a small table in the back a little further from the main bar. Very civil and able to catch up and hear one another. A DJ started when we were just finishing up and it was pretty good from what I had a chance to hear!

I visited Victoria Bar and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a glass of wine, which arrived in a glass with visible lipstick marks. I asked for it to be changed, but instead of pouring a fresh glass, the same wine was transferred into another glass!which, although less obvious, was also dirty. I then asked again, clearly requesting a fresh pour in a clean, polished glass. The bartender’s response was: “Sorry, we don’t polish glasses in here.” At that point, I asked for a refund, which was given without issue. However, this raises a serious concern: is the bar genuinely comfortable serving drinks in unclean glassware? Basic hygiene standards should not be optional, especially in a hospitality setting. Very disappointing and not acceptable.

It is a very good place to drink with friends after work. The price of draught beer is very reasonable. Love it.
