About Dempsey's Bar & Club

Dempsey’s is one of Sheffield’s longest-established LGBTQ+ venues, combining a public ground-floor bar with a members’ club after 9pm. The two-floor setup moves easily from food and drinks into karaoke, resident DJs, games nights and dancing. It is famous locally for staying open long after most other venues, with weekend nights running through to 6am. Go earlier for a relaxed drink or meal; arrive later for the busier club atmosphere upstairs.

Kali was absolutely amazing and such a good vibe. No matter how late we were there she still greeted us with an award winning smile. Mace our night amazing customer service and made our drinks in record time. Hope to see Kali again.

Absolutely rude from the moment we arrived. The blonde guy who seemed to be the manager was blunt and unwelcoming. Considering how expensive this place is, the service was really disappointing. If you’re visiting Sheffield, I’d avoid it. The atmosphere wasn’t welcoming, it was overpriced, and the music was awful. Definitely won’t be returning.

Disappointing nightclub experience. Poorly managed, overcrowded, and the atmosphere felt uncomfortable rather than fun. Music wasn’t great, prices were high for what you get, and security didn’t make the place feel safe later in the night. Overall just messy and badly run. Retro is a far better option. Safer, cheaper, and with a much better vibe. Wouldn’t return.

Love it here. Such a good night out. And the Karaoke is a must! However on Friday and Saturday you must take cash for the entry which we didn’t know, was slightly inconvenient but easily rectified!
