The Cuckoo's Nest

The place can be fun when there at the right moment. Staff mostly really nice and welcoming. But at the cruising area juat old locals there every single day. They enter buying one drink and stay there many hours. Too many loosers there. It is a shame for this kind of place which is hard to find in AMS nowadays.

OMG, this place is amazing. I found it more by accident, but so glad that I did. It was my first time here, and I wasn't quite sure what to do, but the English bar tender was so lovely and friendly and really put me at ease. There were lots of different beers to choose from and he recommended a few to try. I wasn't quite brave enough to try the cruising space downstairs, but he told me all about it and I wish I had gone downstairs, but I definitely will on my next visit. The English bar tender (sorry, I can't remember his name, but silver hair and a really sexy Daddy vibe going on....!), made me feel incredibly welcomed and I can't wait to come back.

We are visiting from Seattle, WA and came here to check the scene, the bartender was super friendly and knowledgeable and told us where to go and how the gay scene works in Amsterdam!! It’s a great beginning start to the day.

George or Maurice on the bar and the coat check guys are extraordinary. The food is nuts and snacks only. Service is great!! Whoever books the DJs selects top notch talent. -Tim USA

Extremely disappointed with this place. I thought an LGBT bar of all places would be inclusive and liberal, but apparently, that doesn’t extend to everyone. I was denied entry just because I had my dog with me. Let’s be clear: this is a bar, not a crowded nightclub where bringing a pet would obviously be inappropriate. It’s a casual spot where you should be able to just walk in and have a quick drink. Turning away customers for such a ridiculous reason is not a good look. If you claim to represent a welcoming and open community, act like it. Won't be coming back
